    there's one part of the plan that has a weakness.

    My American Legion coach, who is the best coach I ever had, used to do a bunt-and-run play with a runner on first and no outs. Runner breaks, batter lays down a bunt to third. Runner never breaks stride and keeps going around second. If the wheel is turning to the left, the second baseman has to make a throw across the diamond after running over to cover first, and if the wheel is turning to the right, the shortstop has to beat the runner and apply a tag on a throw that leads him to the bag. Every time the batter got the bunt down on the left side, it worked.

    i agree with you, but the execution didn't work out.  if i wanted to knit pick I'd mention that theriot seems to have trouble hitting it out of the infield.  a guy who can hit a flyball right there would have been better at that point.
