after 24 hours in the lap of luxury with vegetarian Reuben sandwiches and formaldehyde laced beer I am back off to the jungle and the most beautiful internet cafes in the world.

Happy Father's Day (belatedly). I would have noticed this sooner but was spending time with my husband doing something he wanted to do - hiking with the dogs in the mountains (happy) I noticed that the Rockies did something really nice for their players & their fathers - they're taking all the Dad's on their road trip so they can be with their sons as they play baseball. That's pretty classy!

I am getting ready to go on my break, and starting Tuesday night I will have three weeks back home to celebrate a belated Fathers day and a belated birthday for my (now) 12 year-old.
My wife is so worn out from taking care of the family, working, and studying for her citizenship test, that she ordered the 12 year old a new iPod touch and then gave it to her five days before I was to return home. Seems she forgot all about the idea that the reason we were buying it now, instead of early May, was so that we could celebrate it all together. Oh well, in eight and a half years I'll have another one celebrating a 12th birthday.
