Makes sense then. Hard to fathom a LaRussa lineup with seven guys in a row hitting right-handed, though. What will George Will say?

Maybe he should consider that as another line of work.
It's pouring harder every second, and he's giving the quitcherbitchin signal to someone. What the hell is he waiting for? An ark to float by?

Which one of you said McClellan should never pitch the sixth inning?
Maybe the Cardinals could do a thing like they do for the 13th floor of a hotel. Just pretend is doesn't exist and move on to the next number.

Owings' fastball is meandering up there at 87 mph and Theriot tries to lay down a bunt on a 2-1 count. Once you put on the blue pajamas, you never really completely lose the stupidity that comes from playing for the Cubs.

They better get to this guy quick, before Gibson has a chance to get someone else warmed up.

McClellan earned Total Guy status tonight. Bank on it.

One run on three hits off Arizona's crappy pitching staff is poor.

The 3 hits matches our 3 errors . Pretty pathetic .

That was me. By the way, did you see the photo I linked to of a hotel in the Chinese neighborhood of Jakarta? Their unlucky number is four, so it's missing from hotels.
On the other hand, the lucky number is 8. Any telephone number with lots of 8's in it sells for huge dollars. I wish I could get a cut of that action.

"On the other hand, the lucky number is 8."
Jewish people tend to be fond of nine, and its multiples. If you're giving a monetary gift for a bar mitzvah, it's considered better form to write out a check for $99 than $100.
When I asked my wife why nine is a lucky number, her response was "Because it is." Which explained it entirely.
