"grumblings" and "rumblings" from fans

This ought to soothe fan concerns.

Rasmus working with his father to end hitting slump

(a well-written and subtle piece by Derrick Goold that seems to suggest that Jay is playing better than Rasmus, right here, right now . . . whatever the Hell that means.)

"Derrick Goold that seems to suggest that Jay is playing better than Rasmus, right here, right now"

Probably because he is. I don't know what's going on with Rasmus, but he's starting to piss me off.

Re: "grumblings" and "rumblings" from fans

I'm getting pissed off, too.

And yes, Jay is playing better...despite the fact that he's hitting .220 in July. That's pretty bad for Korby.

I think he needs some time in Triple-A, if only to get in some sort of groove. I'm worried that if the slump continues, there's going to be permanent damage to his confidence. He's basically turning into Yadier Molina 2006 and Brendan Ryan 2010 where he's tinkering and tinkering and nothing is working.

You think Rasmus needs time in Triple-A?  That ought to improve his confidence.

Here are my suggestions to improve his performance:

1. Trade Brendan Ryan again.
2. Grow a mustache
3. Uncut his hair
4. Go home for some comfort food and a good long talk with Dad.

Yeah, referencing the article, it would almost be better if he left his batting gloves in St. Louis, went home for four days and just slopped the hogs or had sex with his sister or attended a Klan rally or whatever the other backwards ass country fucks from his area do for entertainment.

Speaking of which, did anyone else hear or read about the massive traffic jams this weekend on the highways leading to the Nascar race at the Kentucky Speedway, or whatever it's called? There's something ironic about a bunch of rednecks in traffic so long they're unable to watch another bunch of rednecks in traffic.

I don't see how hitting against mediocre pitchers in a pitchers ballpark can be anything other than good for his game right now. He probably feels different, but it's something he needs.

That used to be what trips to Pittsburgh were for.

I remember those days. Games against Charlie Morton and Jeff Karstens were usually batting practice.

He probably needed to stay in Triple-A back in, what, 2008? But that didn't go over too well, . . . at least according to his dad.

Re: "grumblings" and "rumblings" from fans

Is Klink Bernie?!?

5 Thoughts on Rasmus

1. I've made the mistake of comparing Rasmus to former Cardinal J.D. Drew

2. And Drew never had family members getting into the middle of things.

3. That's why, in my opinion, Rasmus' biggest problem can be found inside of his head.

4. Speaking of confusion ... now Tony Rasmus is back in play

5. And what about the the clarity, the focus and a consistent message?

He did spend a year in Triple-A before getting hurt.

Yes, and dad wasn't too happy about that.  Beating the crap out of triple A pitching might not help a guy who thinks he ought to be in the majors.  Also, what if they send him down and the slump continues?  Send him to Double-A?

In theory, I'm not saying that sending a guy to triple-A is a bad idea.  But I'm not so sure Rasmus would take it all that well.
