The Amazins' lineup isn't posted on the P-D's site yet:
1. Ryan Theriot, SS
2. Jon Jay, CF
3. Albert Pujols, 1B
4. Matt Holliday, LF
5. Lance Berkman, RF
6. David Freese, 3B
7. Yadier Molina, C
8. Kyle Lohse, P
9. Skip Schumaker, 2B
You guys are on your own until about the fifth inning tonight. Playoff basketball game. Actually, play-in to get into the playoffs. We got old and the league got young. Quickly.

Listening to the Mets announcers on mlb.com. They're good.

I thought it was July.

I didn't hear August. Are you listening to SNY?
I am guessing the guys I have are Cohen, Darling, and Hernandez. Cohen and Darling, at least, are informative and entertaining.

The first pitch I saw was the one Pagan whacked over Berkman's head.

Darling is the best in the biz. Cohen tends to misjudge balls when they're hit in the air. Ex: I think he thought Murphy's double was a routine fly ball. Hernandez is just a clown. I have no idea why he's in a booth.

Theriot looked horrible in that at bat. Golden opportunity greeted with a turd.

Pujols is in first half form.

Another good outing for Miller ...

Watching Izzy get a save will be one nice thing. To bad it is against the Cardinals. If Izzy is anything like the Izzy I remember there should be some baserunners this inning.

And your first place Pirates shut out TTTIB 1-0. By James McDonald no less.

Well that sucked. Watching the Cards these past few weeks I have grown very pessimistic. Lots of opportunities to win get squandered away to teams that should not be as good as ours.
Honestly, unless they turn things around here in the next week or so, if July 31st the Cards went into full blown seller mode I wouldn't care. It might even be for the best.

The Jolly Roger is up again, and Barry Enright is already getting hammered in Phoenix.

I was just reminded of the old adage "act like you've been there before." Izzy gets his first save in 3 years and, of all teams, it's against the Cards. How does he celebrate? He punched his fist in his glove and didn't even smile until he turned his back to the dugout.
Good for you Izzy. Here's hoping you get to 300 before the season ends.

If the Cards are going to lose this division for no reason I hope they lose it to the Pirates.

When did Izzy learn to throw strikes? I miss that Izzy.

Enright has given up five runs and gotten two outs. Why even send him out there?

Aye. I just hope he doesn't get two more by the time the Cardinals leave town.
