I'm guessing that six-pitch AB by Theriot will be enough to convince La Russa that he's out of his funk.

He apparently gave the "funk" to Schu's glove.
How many more days until we get to watch a real second baseman play the position?

What, you have to go back to the Womack/Vina era to recall a real Cardinals second baseman.
I did hear that Craig made a rehab start.

I'm guessing Tony is not too happy with Theriot at this moment.

As of the Mets series, I am ready to cut bait and play Descalso and Punto everyday.

I don't know if the Pirates are due today, but I don't like the way the game is shaping up right now. Morton seems like he's found it, and Lohse just gave up a double to the worst player in the National League.

Grudzeilanek was pretty good, but people forget him because he wasn't here that long.

Speaking up shaping up, today's rack is positioned conspicuously above the umps right shoulder.

Was that Schu playing 2B for the Pirates?!?

A wicked line drive like that ought to earn Theriot some LaRussa bucks.
I think the second baseman was screened by the umpire.

Gray shirt, fanning herself with a program and not paying any attention whatsoever to the game?

Not as impressive as the floatation devices in Cincinnati last weekend.

150 foot double, ground ball off the pitcher's glove and a sac fly by a pitcher with a .032 average.
Good pitchers don't let that inning happen.

Jones didn't even give that one a courtesy jog.

Trade Rasmus now! His value won't ever get higher.

that shot of rasmus, all alone in the dugout, after a monster blast sure makes him seem a isolated from his teammates.

Maybe I didn't see it correctly. it looked more like a seeing eye slow roller that slipped under the 2B's arm, who was leaning the wrong way. coulda missed it though.

They better blow this thing open right here, because asking the bullpen to get 12 outs with a 1-run lead is suicidal.

He was going to cover the bag. I don't think he saw the ball until it got past the umpire, and it was too late for him to adjust.

Descalso is so good he can even make Schu look good on the DP.
