Pence to Phillies, F$^-ing Astros.

Why do they keep loading the Phillies with talent?  Why would they trade Pence???

Maybe because Ed Wade used to be the Phillies' GM?

Phillies give up Jarred Cosart and Jonathon Singleton and two more players to be named.  Both are in High A ball.  Per MLB.com, they were the Phillies Top 2 prospects and rated the #37 and #38 prospects in MLB, respectively.

I hope the Cards are not done, because as appreciative as I am of Jackson's start, I don't think we have enough gas in the tank to win now.  The Brewers are looking good, and we might not even win the NLC with what we have, but even if we did, we could get embarrassed badly in round 1, a la 2009.

Astros want to dump all costly players and start over.  It is actually smart.  They can try and tweek this roster all they want but it isnt going to get better anytime soon.  Might as well start over.

Yahoo says Pence was earning $6.9 m.  Not chump change, but not A-Rod, either.

They got the Phillies two best prospects.  It is a good ol'fashion fire sale.

Pence is a wildly overrated player.

Overrated to Astro fans, maybe.  I see him for what he is.  That is an averagely poductive right fielder.  His career path is what Juan EncarnaciĆ³n was.  What makes him overrated is that he was Houstons' Rasmus.  They unrealisticly expected him to the face of the franchise.
