Carson Palmer

ESPN reporting the Raiders are giving up first round picks in '12 and '13 for him. This better work ...

Re: Carson Palmer

This is stupid IMO.  They are giving up a 2012 first round pick and a 2013 1st or 2nd round pick (depending on his play) for a guy who refused to play football on a team he thought would be poor.  The Bengals and Raiders  both have 4-2 records.  Plus I thought Carson only had a one year contract.  Oh and they want him to start right away after not playing footbal for 9 months.

Re: Carson Palmer

It's desperation. Granted, you'd be pretty desperate if the alternative is Kyle Boller, but it's not like this is a Super Bowl team that has had it's hopes dashed by an injury. Campbell may have taken them to a wild card berth or maybe even a division title this year, but the Raiders weren't going to be hoisting any trophies this season.

Palmer's deal was more about playing for the Bengals than it was playing for a bad team.  The Brown family are possibly the worst owners in major sports, and that's saying a lot.

Having said that, It makes no sense for a team to mortgage their future for Palmer.  I'm not sure his should ever fully healed from the injuries he's suffered.

Why not go with Prior if you are going to bring in a brand new QB.  Cam Newton has adjust great without much time at all.  I am not saying it would work but if you are bringing in a brand new QB why not go with one you already have and has studied the playbook for 6 weeks.  I assume he has practiced some.  I sure wouldnt morgage the next two drafts on Palmer.  They are paying full price for something that has sat on the self and collected dust.

Re: Carson Palmer

6 INTs from the two Raiders Qbs and they didnt try Prior?

Ponder looked pretty good for the Vikings.  Not perfect but much better then I figured.

Kyle Boller made me pine for the halcyon days of Andrew Walter. I'm going to give Palmer a pass yesterday. He was pretty much drawing plays in the dirt with his team already behind by three scores.
