This seems like a really stupid move by Washington to let Lewis bat.
Worked for us. But are they now bringing in Holland out of the Bull Pen? Yikes
Guess not - Whew...
But Furcal - WS avg. of 136 - Pitchers have better averages

They sacrificed defense when they built this team, but the irony is that the plays by Holliday and Freese were so basic even bad major league defenders are supposed to be able to make them.

I don't like that double switch. We have more relief pitchers than we have center fielders who can get a base hit.
I think La Russa just out-geniused himself.

Pujols had a historic Game 3, and that's the only thing that's kept him from having a historically bad series.

He said we got to the WS because he let the team go & just do what they do best. Now he's back to micro-managing again.

he had a point that the called strike three was worse, if anything, than the called ball just before it.

We MUST capitalize here, and not just one run. Two or three at least. Otherwise grab your fishing poles Redbirds.

True, but he's still 0 for 15 in games other than Game 3.

Here's what someone on Facebook just asked me: "Are these guys confused? Do they think they win by scoring errors rather than runs?" At least Texas might think so too!

Molina is due. I like this.

Sure hope Ogando will have a bad night!

Too true. He came close in the third. I thought that one was gone. Not sure what held it back . . . cold, wind?

Please don't let this be the 943rd double play this team has hit into.
Offline
Well, that's one way to take the bat out of Molina's hand.

That works.
Are you fucking kidding me? Where is he going?
Offline
Wow did that just suck the life out of the stadium.

Whelp, the go-ahead run didn't score cuz Holliday got picked off.
It's like he has the flu, or something. He's that far off.

Ok- Lets PRAY Holland also has a bad night!

Texas will have to lose this for us to have a chance.

No shit. Imagine how we might have felt if Schumaker, batting .500, had come up with bases loaded.
That was a stupid fucking double switch. We aren't going to run out of pitchers, but one of the two guys who has a base hit is now out of the game.
Offline
Well, one thing we know for sure. If there is a Game 7, Holland isn't starting it.
Offline
Craig in left. Maybe something good came out of that pick off.

It stayed tied for 1 pitch.
