All this talk about the last game 7 being Angels vs. Giants led my mind back to game 6, and the very pleasant memories I have of Barry Bonds flailing around on his ass in left field, looking more like a beached whale than a athlete, as the Giants fell apart in the 8th inning.

The Rangers are waking up in their hotel rooms this morning. There's a dreamy split second before they realize "We have to go back to that place and win a ballgame after all that stuff happened last night?" and dread sets in.
They wouldn't be here in the first place if they didn't have cajones, but there's something about human nature when you try to re-grip a trophy after you've let it slip through your fingers ... twice.

I'm not sure how long you stayed with the post-game coverage given that you're already an hour ahead of us and had to get up for work, but did you see any of the clubhouse interviews with the Rangers players.  I can't imagine a more gut-wrenching feeling than walking in the locker room and seeing all of the plastic covering rolled up and hanging above their lockers.  You just know that at some point during the 9th AND 10th, that plastic was un-rolled and the champagne in place.  The site of the plastic had to be pretty damn painful to see.

Momentum is obviously in the Cards' favor, and the Rangers must certainly have a sense of dread as they go about their morning, but nothing about this series has made any sense. Even though I think Carpenter is the right call for Game 7, I wonder what he has left in the tank. And I know the Cardinals hit him hard last time out, but Matt Harrison had a very good season. He's no slouch.

Any word on the extent of the following injuries? I hope they are all severe/limiting. ESPECIALLY HOLLIDAY'S!
