All the Rams need now is for Indy to beat Jacksonville next week and the Rams will hold the rights to the #1 pick.
As it stands, the Rams now likely will finish with the #1 or #2 pick in 4 of the last 5 seasons.

Wierd thing is that if the Vikings had the first pick they likely wouldnt pick Luck and neither will the Rams. If it is the Colts they might but that would kind of be a shot to Mannings face.

Indy sucks because Peyton Manning has missed the season.
AP, I know the Rams won't take Luck, but with the new rookie salary cap that was put in place, the #1 is suddenly very attractive for a team looking to trade up, particularly this year since so many teams are convinced Luck is the next Peyton Manning. I've seen speculation that the Rams could get as many as 5 picks (2012, 2013, 2014 1st round and 2012, 2013 2nd round pics) for a team looking for a franchise QB.

That would be huge.
With Peterson down with what seems like a career changing injury, I am not sure what the Vikings need. IMO they need to build the O & D Line. When those two fell apart so did the rest of the team. The secondary has always been weak. I dont know why they dont finally fix it.

The Rams need this more than the Colts. St. Louis is in the midst of the worst five-year stretch in NFL history. The Packers have won almost as many games this year (14) as the Rams have since 2007 (15). Indy must conquer Jacksonville in Week 17.

The Rams would do well to make a trade, especially since they already have Bradford. Speaking for experience, it's hard anyway to fix a team right away with a QB, especially if there's no O-line or defense to back him up. Especially when you're paying the QB around $30 million and he hamstrings your ability to get help. Russell wasn't going to make it in the NFL because of his work habits, but in almost every instance you're better off picking a left tackle or a defensive lineman with the #1 pick. How much better off would the Raiders have been by picking Joe Thomas than Russell?

I think they are sold on Ponder. Webb has been pretty impressive in my book as well. I rather see the Vikings have a lower pick then 1 or 2. There is to much pressure there. If they could get a cluster of draft pick for whatever pick they draw they should do that and apply them to their defense. I dont really care that much. They can do whatever they see fit and it wont effect me. There is little loyality as an NFL fan anymore. It is a social sport.

The problem is no one wants to trade to get into the top 5 anymore. That may change once the rookie salary structure is in place, but sucking is a recurring cycle in the NFL. You really have to be wary of picking a QB, which makes it more astonishing that the Raiders didn't vett Russell at least a little bit. They fell so much in love with his big arm they ignored his character flaws and didn't see that he was a hopelessly immature guy who would rather spend his time trying to playing Madden than with his nose in an actual playbook.
