So there goes plan B at third and SS.  I bet they pick Miles up in a month when he is DFA.  For a million dollars they could have had Orlando Cabrera.  If he were the plan B the plan B would be better then plan A.  That wouldnt have help out with third base depth but still.

This injury to Wainwright harkens back to September when Strauss was reporting that a member of the rotation was going to have surgery, leading everyone (especially me) to think it was Wainwright.

Really??  When I saw this info I looked up Milwood's status.  I thought he went unsigned.  2010 was a bad bad year for him but he might be woth a shot.  If they could Loshe him without resigning him to a backbreaking contract that might save 2011.  Also I guess I dint relize how young Snell was.  He is only 29.  I always thought he was a breakout waiting to happen.  Bottomline is if Wainwright isnt around then alot more ifs have to break the Cardinals way to even have a chance.

We've gone to a solid to a bunch of if and buts. Is it me, or has nothing gone right for the Cardinals ever since Holliday got blasted in the package with that line drive at Dodger Stadium?

I would date it back to november 2006.  It is like they used up their allotted luck for 10 years in a couple months.

If Wainwright has TJ sugary is he out for the whole year or could he come back and pitch out of the pen in the fall.

If true, this is seriously horrible news.  If this is to be Pujols last season with the Cards, and if the plan had been to go all in and win one for the Gipper, then maybe God laughed, and it is time for a new approach:

Ask Pujols to waive his no trade rights and deal him to the team he wants to go to for the world's collection of prospects.

Trade a recuperating Wainwright and Carpenter for the world's remaining prospects. 

Look forward to 2013 under a new franchise name:  The St. Louis New Devil Rays!

If Pujols refuses to remove his no trade clause even when the Cardinals tailspin isnt that a sign.  He claims all that matters is winning.  So a trade off a failing team to a playoff team makes since in a walk year.  Unless of course his plans are to resign with the Cardinals.  We will have to wait and see how it plays out but if he refuse to be traded while playing for a non-playoff team I take that to mean he wants to give the Cardinals every chance he can to make a deal with him.
