Wainwright

"Wainwright is making great progress on the way back. I haven't personally witnessed any of his throwing sessions, but observers say his pitches are really popping. And that, if anything, Wainwright's fastball has a heavier sink to it now."

We are fortunate this injury happened in February and not April. I fully expect Wainwright to come out with guns blazing in spring training.

Re: Wainwright

At one point he wanted to be in the bullpen for the plyoffs

Re: Wainwright

I remember, but I think that had to do with him appearing just so his option would automatically kick in. The Cardinals did that anyway.

I believe that was part of it.  Still, if Wainwright was allowed you know he would take the ball tonight.

I also think it is pretty cool that he wanted his options to kick in.  He basicly saying he wants less years at a lower pay to stay with the Cardinals and not have to worry about being a free agent.  I dont care if he is coming off of TJ, some team still would have payed him big buck over much more then 2 years.

By letting him throw out the first pitch last night?
