We are fortunate this injury happened in February and not April. I fully expect Wainwright to come out with guns blazing in spring training.

I remember, but I think that had to do with him appearing just so his option would automatically kick in. The Cardinals did that anyway.

I believe that was part of it. Still, if Wainwright was allowed you know he would take the ball tonight.
I also think it is pretty cool that he wanted his options to kick in. He basicly saying he wants less years at a lower pay to stay with the Cardinals and not have to worry about being a free agent. I dont care if he is coming off of TJ, some team still would have payed him big buck over much more then 2 years.
