Garcia vs. Nicasio
I don't like this for the Cardinals. Nicasio in particular sounds nasty.

Major league debut?
No TV for me tonight. Fox has a 7-10 p.m. ET window.

Fox's afternoon baseball is starting at 7pm?

Yeah. They've been trying prime time for the last few weeks.
Red Sox/Tigers is in a delay and I'm getting Angels/Twins.
Looks like I'm not missing anything good in Denver. WTF is going on in Denver? Is Garcia getting rocked, or are they finding holes?

What was the "automatic ball" on the 1-2 count to Spilborghs?

I have feeling we see 2-3 innings from Franklin tonight. Yuck.

Nice. Garcia gives up a touchdown in the first inning to a team that can't hit.

a FIFTY pitch first inning. Yuck.

Garcia's ERA went from 1.93 to 2.71 after 1 inning. Ouch

the box score says it all began with an error by the riot. not sure if that had anything to do with it. is anybody watching this game?
internet connection is particularly slow where i am at today and i'm not even sure i can get mlb.com radio coverage to work.

I've got an 0-3-0 line score for the Cardinals on mlb.com
The Rockies are 6-7-0 ... and counting.

Geez, GIDP for Pujols. Go figure.

I'm watching. I thought the Cards would never get out of the bottom of the first. Rockies were getting hits. Although Theriot did have a minor gaff.

The only good thing so far is the Reds are getting bombed almost as badly as the Cardinals are.

it will be interesting to see what happens. i assume batista is unavailable after pitching 2 innings yesterday, and with boggs in memphis they seem to be a bit thin at long relief. Not sure about the availability of the rest of the bullpen.
my feeling is that this might be the time to do anything but play franklin. after not getting the call yesterday, if it does not happen again today, it might give him the nudge into retirement, or the DL, that he seems to need.

I'm not sure it's worth making a point that going by what's he's said so far he's probably too stubborn to acknowledge, Max. They don't have an off day until a week from Monday, and they're pretty much playing with a 23-man roster right now. Franklin needs to take one for the team tonight.

So much for that ...

Wow. This game reminds me why I hate watching games at Coors Field.

Because?

Because baseball games aren't supposed to end up with football scores and the Cardinals usually end up on the wrong end of them.

Not yesterday! The wind helped the Rockies with two of those long fly-outs.

Looks cold in Denver. Google said 56 degrees but it's 77 degrees out west where I live.
