"2) what did Albert do?"
Hit a single to left, which was bobbled, decided to break for second, thought better of it, got caught in no man's land, and then nearly broke his ankle sliding back into first.

I'd have to weed that out as incorrect then. I doubt Fergie ever had an at bat in the AL. He came over after the DH was installed and retired before interleague play.and you would be correct:
well, he wasn't active, nor did he ever hit a dinger in the AL, but otherwise I'd rate it a fine effort on my part.I'm a little disappointed no one got the weed reference.
interesting. my muse was a little obscure, but i was trying to channel the SNL spoof of keanu reeves playing celebrity jeopardy. so the weed reference seems particularly apropos.

"Jenkins was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991. One explanation for why he wasn't inducted sooner was due to a 1980 arrest in Toronto for possession of cocaine and marijuana. He was suspended by then commissioner Bowie Kuhn for the remainder of the 1980 season, before an independent arbitrator reinstated him for 1981."

So now I suppose you're gonna tell me he's not a nice guy and I should not invite him to my next tea party with Kareem?
Hello? EVERYBODY was doing cocaine and marijuana in 1980. Hell, I have it on good information that 25% of the Clinton administration were drug users.

I got no issues with Fergie. He was a great pitcher. But it won't stop me from taking a cheap shot at his expense.
