I have a feeling Allen Craig is going to be the new Ryan Ludwick, in that people are going to go apeshit when he's not in the lineup.

No Craig again?!? WTF???

Hey, I think I'm getting a Fox Saturday game here ..

Hmmm. A bomb to right-center. Methinks the first baseman might be getting hot.

"the first baseman might be getting hot."
For which team?

Lohse can be a cementhead sometimes.

The Cubs lineup isn't any better than the Giants. That 4-spot can't happen.

That wasnt a good pitch to Pujols but those are the kind of doubles he hits when he is right.

Loshe was sucking today. 11 hits! At least he had the nuts to keep his team in the game.

It sounds like La Russa is in full-blown La Russa Mode today.

You suggesting that Larussa didn't save Cruz for this moment?

Berkman has to put the ball in play there. He just has to.

And the TTIB coughed up a 5 run lead and loses 11-8 in extra innings. This day just keeps getting better.

9 out o 10 times he does what he needs to do in that situation. It all worked out in the end because I think Pujols got his groove back.

How about a rally by the Marlins?

Pujols is now hitting .275/.346/.459. That'd be great for Allen Craig.

Has anyone else seen on Baseballreference if you go to pitcher splits you can see how they do with different umps behind the plate? I had never noticed that before.

i haven't seen it, but it would be interesting for someone to do a statistical analysis of umpire-pitcher-hitter combinations to see if there are deviations from random.
i suppose on the one hand i can see how a pitcher who needs a generous strike zone would see his numbers get sucky when there is an ump whoe consistently calls a tight strike zone--and that would appear non-random, but wouldn't be anything major for baseball to worry about. but on the other hand, i also suspect that it's possible that some umps really do have it in for various pitchers/batters, and that might show up in the analysis as non-random, too.
