Looking ahead to Week 4, I get to play Tk and he'll be without his #1 WR, #2 RB and TE thanks to bye weeks.
I'm predicting he beats me by 40.

I can't believe how bad I got beaten by Alz.
I was projected to win all seven of my games in Week 3 and finished with just victories.

I needed Aaron Rodgers to trip and break his leg coming out the tunnel last night in order to hold off AP. Didn't happen.

It's a little bit overkill, but last year I was angry at myself for only having one team. Fantasy football is a really good way to pass the time at work.

This isn't meant to be taken as an endorsement of this movie, but have you ever seen the scene in "Knocked Up" when the pregnant chick's sister thinks her husband is sleeping around, so she tails him, and ends up busting in on his fantasy baseball draft?
It's practically the lone funny moment in an otherwise dreadful movie that could have easily casted John Cusack, except there's really no role that calls for egregious over-acting.

I love most Judd Apatow movies, so I enjoyed "Knocked Up."

I'm really kind of sick of Seth Rogan's loveable slacker character. "Superbad" has some moments, mostly when Michael Cera is involved, and Will Ferrell's brilliance carries "Anchorman," but other than that I find Apatow's work makes me feel uncomfortable more often than it makes me laugh. Maybe it's like rap and I'm just too old to get it.

Pardon me, but perhaps you could refresh my memory, what's Bostonian for, 'go fuck yourself!'?

I'm pretty sure it's "Go Fuck Yourself."

ESPN is pimping Steelers/Ravens. Steelers/Ravens will be a good game for people who enjoyed football in 1913. "Smashmouth" football is terrible to watch, just like every AFC North/Central game.

ESPN is certainly savvy enough to pander to the appeal of the Stealers. I think there were more Stealers fans in the stands in Tampa than there were Bucs fans.
TK, you're too young to remember the days when the Big 10 was known as the Big Two and the Little Eight. People would actually get excited in anticipation of Michigan and Ohio State playing each other at the end of the regular season, but if you watched the game it consisted of two offenses that were not just content but overjoyed to concoct 80-yard, 16-play drives that consisted entirely of 4-yard runs between the tackles and ended with a field goal. The winner - usually of a thrilling game that ended with a score of something like 9-6 - would then head to California ranked first or second in the polls for the Rose Bowl. And every year the Big 10 champion, despite being a 25-point favorite, would get trounced by the Pac 8 (and as of 1978 the Pac 10) champion that had adopted and utilized a play that outside the confines of the Big 10 was known as the "forward pass."

Dartie, you are not doing credit to the Big Ten passing game. Just think of all the great quarterbacks of that era from Michigan and Ohio State who made it to the NFL: Mike Tomczak, Jeff Harbaugh, the list goes on and on . . . well maybe it stops there. But those are some legendary names up there.

And it's still a terribly overrated conference. I despise the Big Ten and my hatred will grow more intense when Nebraska joins up.

Windy and I play each other in a battle of winless teams. I'm predicting some freak of scoring results in us both losing.

Rex Kern had a stellar NFL career as a defensive back.

My dad has been a Nebraska fan going back to the Bob Devaney era and he's been dismissive of the Big 10 just as long, so I'm going enjoy that a little bit.

They kicked the snot out of the Huskies, which just goes to show how college football changed while I was away, seeing as the Huskies were tucked into the soft spot of their schedule, in between Idaho and South Dakota State.

I out scored every team in the league except the one I was facing.

Sat, Sep 4 Western Kentucky W 49-10 --
Sat, Sep 11 Idaho W 38-17 --
Sat, Sep 18 at Washington W 56-21 --
Sat, Sep 25 South Dakota State W 17-3
Changed? That looks like a Tom Osbourne schedule. Except there would be a 77-0 win in there that Osbourne would say wasn't running it up because the last four touchdowns were scored when the fourth string QB was working on his option pitch technique.

The change is that the Huskies are now ranked among Nebraska's patsies,
. . . whereas they were a powerhouse when I left.

I was too busy to check that my running back didn't play . . . oh well, at least this time I screwed myself. And contrary to some opinions, it doesn't make it feel any better.
