Thanks for picking up on the reference, Artie. I wish we had a 'like' button here as I'm too lazy or busy to acknowledge some of your best material. It gets noticed.
I once walked past, and exchanged "Hello"s with, Brodie in full NBC Sports regalia (oddly-colored sport coat with logo) at Cleveland Municipal Stadium. At that game, my buddy and I were castigated by Browns fans for daring to cheer for the Raiders instead of our "home team". Nowadays, I think I'd be pretty quiet in a similar situation.
I've written this on the old Yahoo board a couple of times, maybe before you arrived, but part of my disdain for all things Ohio is because of an experience at a Browns/Raiders game at the new stadium in 2003. I went with my cousin and my buddy from New Hampshire, both of whom are Raiders' fans. We weren't being particularly rowdy or anything because it was a low-scoring game and the Raiders' didn't play well, but when the (much-maligned) Phillip Buchanon intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown, which was called back due to a penalty, a female Browns' fan, drunk out of her mind, challenged all three of us to a fight, and then threw up on us.
I've been a fan of the visiting team in more than a dozen ballparks and stadiums from Boston to Los Angeles, including notorious places like Shea Stadium, Fenway Park, Giants Stadium, Fedex Field, Citizens Bank Ballpark, Wrigley Field and both stadia in Foxboro, and I've never gotten a hard time from the home team's crowd, except in Cleveland that day.
