Took the in-laws to a titty bar, eh?
That could come back to haunt you later on this evening.
Not a titty bar. Just a standard rural bar and grill:

That's been Sutcliffe's mantra for the past three hours.
Fortunately I missed all that. Their babble has been fairly insipid. What do you call that segment on the first half Cy Young candidates? Filler?

Quick. Talk smack about Boggs.

Preceded by the segment on the first half MVP and RoY candidates.

Boggs is cashing in all of his already-meager LaRussa bucks.

Is that four whiffs for Stubbs?

I once told a kid I wouldn't buy him ice cream after the game unless he struck out the side in one of the innings he pitched.
Knute Rockne, stand aside.

My blackberry must be on the fritz. It says the TTIB is under .500. Danny has to be on suicide watch.

Buccigross just asked Dr. Kruk if the Cardinals are rushing back Pujols.

I only visit the Reds' board occasionally these days, but Danny developed a See No Evil mentality until a low rent troll showed up and started taunting him.
In any event, Danny's 101-61 prediction is in serious jeopardy.

2 seasons as a Cardinal, 2 All-Star game appearances. I wonder if Holliday has lived up to Cowboy's expectations?

"Are you Los Angeles Earl of Anaheim?"
Yeah, but most of the regulars put that handle on ignore a long time ago. I posted as Jacque Earl Jones most recently, until they all put that handle on iggy. It's a pattern.
I haven't busted out any of the Python handles on them yet, but I can't even fathom how far British sketch comedy references will go over the heads of some of those poor schmucks.

OK, who had the Cardinals leading the second-place Pirates by 1.5 games on July 5?

Didn't you post as a Reds fans for a while. I'd recommend going back with a bunch of doom and gloom posts, but you wouldn't even stand out. They're over there suggesting anything from trading Votto, releasing Volquez or promoting Dontrelle Willis.
Maybe if you were an Austin-like optimist. The way the Reds are playing, a guy trying to convince everyone they'reheaded to the World Series might be the most annoying of all Trolls.

The same guy who had Berkman with 23 HR by that same date. How much would that Exacta have paid.
I still hope Milo Hamilton has to work the All-Star game.

I miss the yahoo fo the trolling but alittle taste of it and I remember it isnt hat fun. At least not to me. I never enjoyed the going to the other board. I didnt enjoy watching them get spanked when they came to the Cardinals board.

I tried to do a dumbed-down version of a Reds fan, but it didn't work because I ended up fitting in with the rest of them.

I liked the Votto and Bailey for Bautista deal with Toronto. Because Votto is from Toronto. Votto will be still hitting .300 in 10 years when Bautista is testifying before Congress in the next round of steroid hearings.

Alas, AP, proper Trolling has become a lost art, partly because of Yahoo's increasingly Draconian censorship and partly because the dynamics of the boards have changed. You used to be able to have repartee, but it's degenerated to a "My team rules; your team sucks" kind of thing that really doesn't have a lot of appeal to the established Troll.
At it's height, or depth, depending upon one's perspective, the Cubs board was some of the most fertile territory for Trolls. You could spend an entire day there. I haven't been to the Cubs board in a long, long time, but last I checked it had become a haven for homophobes, racial bigots and ne'er-do-wells who can't write in complete sentences. I mean really. What can you write that will wound a guy who's handle is "rectum recker?"

The whole thing is inexplicable. They have four above-average starting pitchers who don't strike anyone out, and their defense, save for McCutchen, Tabata, Overbay and maybe Garrett Jones is pretty rough. The offense is pretty pedestrian (outside of McCutchen/Jones, though Snyder/Doumit are a good hitting catcher combo) and they get nothing from Alvarez or Cedeno.
The only thing they do really well is relief pitching.
I know long-suffering Pirates fans want to see them hang until the end, but the team would be better off if they hung around .500 and the Cardinals/Brewers started to pull away. That way they could trade Maholm or someone else that isn't going to have a future without much rebellion from the fans.
While I'm rambling about other teams, Bruce Bochy is going to be Manager of the Year if the Giants make it to the playoffs. La Russa should be in contention for all the crap thrown in the Cardinals' faces, but I think three months of Batista/Franklin should also count against him.

last i was on that board, maybe back in about 2005, they were debating who should suck whose cock and what color the cock should be, so that element has been around a while.

i think that the thing that was missed by bernie was that they did not keep franklin around for franklin's sake, they kept him around for their own sake . . . as a demonstration of what loyalty to the boss buys you. a clear example of the exchange rate of la russa bucks, if you will.
la russa buys loyalty at a high price, sometimes having to ship out a serviceable player, other times having to keep around an unserviceable one. but i think you need to examine franklin within the larger picture of how la russa has developed a loyal, functioning team from a bunch of guys who, even the worst of which, were standouts at every single level of competition, except perhaps the last one.
