Bad call or not, it doesn't matter if Skip makes a 25-foot throw.

Yes, although I enjoyed Theriot flipping out. That was pretty awesome.

Pet peeve: for how long after 9/11 must we suffer through an saccharine version of "America the Beautiful" at each 7th inning stretch?

So what's the backstory to that? Was Theriot told he'd get a pink slip if he didn't up his defense, or something? Definitely a weird freak out.

So, more to the point, did you see the rack on that woman in the white t-shirt in the front row just a bit toward the Cards dugout?

Cruz at 2B. Let's see how the spell genius after this game is over.

Why is there no choice of broadcasts on mlb.com? I'm getting tired of seeing replays of Kozart's home run.

Was that Brantley trying to explain 'that whole WHIP thing'? This is getting painful.

It's usually "God Bless America." Because we're god's favorite country.

I think part of the reaction was because the runner kicked him.

That was impressive.

That was Brennaman, as usual assuming everyone watching has never seen a baseball game before.
It was one of his usual passive/aggressive arguments about how Cordero should have been on the All-Star team. I've read and heard enough from Cincinnati's announcers and fans to discern that individual awards are a big deal there, to the point where I think Joey Votto has legally changed his name to "Reigning National League MVP Joey Votto."

I think the Ump may have got the call right however that call goes the fielders way 99% of the time.

Theriot almost certainly had his foot off the bag. I'm a poor lip-reader, but I'd be surprised if Theriot didn't say "Do you want me to get killed?" to the umpire.

To which the ump might have responded, "no, but I expect that guy playing second base to make a 25 foot little league toss that doesn't draw you off the bag."

I understand the reason why the play is normally called the other way. Plays that are much more clearly not a forceout are called as such. Theriot should have been pissed.
