Nothing wrong with a double wide. One of my many plans is to set a double wide on a basement on about 20 acers of woods and maybe a pond. With the way it is going I doubt that happens. By the time I get all my projects completed around here I wont want to sell for what the property would sell for.
Make it a triple wide, and I had the same idea, but my plan was to put it about 15 minutes outside of Bellingham, near little place with a view like this:

One thing I liked to do in hot weather was pitch. Most guys like to pitch in cold weather because it sucks for the hitter, but it always seemed like I pitched better when it was hot.
One of the last summers I played ball in the old fart league, we played a doubleheader in 95 degree weather. We had to travel way out in the sticks to a town called Maynard, but we always looked forward to playing there because there was a really cool biker bar called the Sit 'N Bull (seriously, I couldn't make that up if I tried) that had great barbecue and live bands that we used to go to after baseball. But it was so hot that day I got sunstroke, so I had one beer and then had to go to the men's room to throw up. Then I tried to get in my car to drive home and every muscle below my waist cramped up. It took me about a half-hour just to get into my car.
So there was no beer, no barbecue, no bands, and I think we even lost both games of the doubleheader.

What I like to do in this kind of weather is drink from inside the house, while looking out the window.
I have a biker story from just today. I witnessed the national biker gang that has a somewhat local connection roll threw my little town. On the way by the chick on the back stripped off her top, revealing a bikini that didnt leave to imagin. I think my job is to locate criminal behavior but at that moment I was confussed.

It always amazes me how much space there is in the rest of the country. My son's best friend last year moved to a town about 30 miles northwest of Chicago. Thirty years ago, the town didn't even exist except for farmland. They put up a bunch of houses and now it's got something like 90,000 people. And a Hooters.
My house was built in 1937 and I live in the "new" part of our town.
