It appears to me that Pence missed that because he sucks. At first I was ready to credit U2 for it.

This is why Brandon Phillips is a jackass. Reyes tries to steal second, Phillips goes to cover the bag, and the batter bloops one over the spot where he was standing. Phillips jumps in the air and gives one of those "darn it!" swipes with his arm. Why? Everyone in the ballpark knows it's a cheap hit. Why bring attention to yourself?

The first slip was his, but then when he went to re-gain his footing, he couldn't get any traction and his right knee twisted awkwardly outward. I'm surprised his knee didn't explode.

Holy crap. Anyone looking for a chuckle, check out the linescore of the Texas/Minnesota game. Texas has put up a crooked number in every 6 of the first 7 innings, 5 of which were 3 runs or more. They're winning 20-5 in the 8th.
