It's a part of them rehabbing their image. One of them got taken to the cleaners in a divorce with a gal from another mortgage company, which they jointly owned. I've heard he acted like quite the asshole after the divorce, so they did these commercials with La Russa and also produced and aired a fluff piece called "The Great American Entrepreneur" on KSDK.
Their image was worse than a geek in a suit wearing a catcher's mask?
That's correct.

Ouch. Divorce must have been messy. McCourt messy.

Didn't know about any of the divorce stuff, but they're refinancing my house and knocking a percent and a half off my interest rate.

Why do fans boo when the visiting team's pitcher makes a pickoff move to first?

Anyone else besides me worried that Schu is suddenly playing himself back into 2012 roster consideration?
Larussa was practically ready to rub one out when someone in the post game presser mentioned that Schu is hitting .350 sine June 4.

That's something my mother-in-law would say. "Of course I invest in Phillip Morris. Why not? I quit smoking 30 years ago."

If Berkman and potentially Holliday are unavailable, don't they have to send out a pitcher for a position player? It would be unconscionable to play tomorrow with only 10 position players.

Nice game, Trever.
You beat me to it.
Based on Yahoo's stats, opponents now are hitting .306 against him this season, to go with that 1.85 WHIP.

That reminds me of one of the funniest stand-up bits I ever heard. The guy was talking about dogs that have to wear those cones when they're chewing their ass. The vets have a two-stage process just to mess with the customer, before going to the cone, they give you a salve and tell you to rub the salve on the dogs ass. "How's that supposed to work?" you ask. "It tastes bad," replies the vet. "Worse than dog's ass?!?"

It's a damn shame I don't get Tony TV. Just for the shower scenes.

I kind of got the impression from listening to The Cat that Holliday has some kind of digestive problem that won't linger.

Great. We're relying on a guy who has a TV spot called "the Cat Fight" for breaking news.

I actually like him alot. He is funny and doesnt take the broadcast gig to seriously. Most the time the stuff he says is pretty good. You could tell me better then I could tell you but it seems like the players like him.
Also I think Craig should be about ready.

Tone made some comments to KSDK earlier where he talked about how awesome Rasmus is, but he goes outside the organization for help and gets into funks. Now Strauss is saying that a Rasmus trade has gone from being an option to being an inevitability.

Tone talking up Rasmus should signal that loud and clear.
But actually, it's too bad if that's the case, because it means they will have to take whatever they can get for him. Better to maintain the brave face that he will only be traded for top talent.

I'm thinking I just want this drama to be over. Then I want Tone to explain why Theriot is 2 for his last 35, and if he is seeking outside hitting instruction from Mike the Tiger.

I don't know if you heard the nightly third inning Cat Call, but the impression I got was he walked into Tone's office, asked what was wrong with Holliday, and the reply was probably something like "He's on the crapper, shitting his brains out. Why don't you go join him?"

I did hear that, and that was exactly the same impression I had.

I guess if I had stayed up until 2 a.m., I would have seen "the worst call ever."
Hyperbole, thy name is Passan.
