7/28 Gamecrap

I know it's six hours until first pitch at Busch, but I had to get this in.
Listening to Reds/Mets on the radio, I heard Brantley say: "Most big league hitters, if they can recognize a breaking ball, won't swing whether it's a ball or a strike."
If I hadn't seen Jeff Branley play in the major leagues with my own eyes, I'd never believe he'd ever heard of baseball.

Re: 7/28 Gamecrap

Wow, the Reds are sinking fast.

I tuned in to watch Angels-Tigers, but Mike Trout is sitting. So now I'll just watch The Beast take on the Royals.

How many F-bombs do you think he's dropped so far this inning?

"Wow, the Reds are sinking fast."

Danny has gone into the witless protection program.

Reds nearly come back, but Izzy closes the door.

50-55.

Save #297 for Izzy.

I wish the Cardinals would ask about him.  In  know he doesnt want to be traded but he did say he has unfinished business here.

I thought hitters liked hanging breaking balls.

4. Matt Holliday, LF

5. David Freese, 3B

6. Gerald Laird, C

7. Ryan Theriot, SS

Crap!  Only TWO MVP/HOF candidates.

Seriously, it will be nice if Craig comes back strong, to help spell Berkman, who seems like he will need a lot of spelling down the stretch.  Pujols, Holliday, Berkman/Craig, Freese, is still a formidable heart of the order.

Re: 7/28 Gamecrap

At least TLR did the right thing and dropped Theriot in the order.

Re: 7/28 Gamecrap

Rasmus' new team sure knows how to take it to the Orioles. 6-2 bottom of the third.

Haven't met one yet who didn't.

Re: 7/28 Gamecrap

Resting Yadi on a night the Cardinals are playing the team with the most stolen bases in the National League isn't one of LaRussa's better ideas.

Re: 7/28 Gamecrap

Can't watch tonight. At the Kenny Chesney concert--outdoors. It's hotter than balls. On the plus side, since it hotter than balls, most of the women are wearing shorts/skirts/dresses that stop a couple of inches past their ass.  And there are awesome racks everywhere you look. If the energy it requires to check out all the women while not getting caught by the wife burned calories, I'd drop 50 pounds tonight.

Re: 7/28 Gamecrap

Nineteen straight set down to end the game.

Don't worry, though, the Cubs are coming to town and the Brewers get this really tough Astros team.

Anyone else need me to blow some sunshine up their ass?

Looks like I missed a lot.

Did I mention it was hotter than balls outside tonight?

You mean the slappy single that found its way through the right side.  Patterson isnt really that bad of a player.  It is the Cub thing that troubles me.  That and it seems like a Randy Winnish guy to put on the team.  I guess they need someone els who could play center on the roster.

How was Kenny?  I have seen alot of the country guys but not many of the main singers who put on large scale concerts.

Re: 7/28 Gamecrap

I had not been to bed in 2 days so I tapped out early last night.  Wish I would have stayed up and seen some of the new pitchers.  How did they look?  Also I didnt know about all the injuries:

"Gerald Laird left in after scoring a run in the second inning with a sprained finger. Tony Cruz, Laird's replacement, had to leave in the eighth inning with a bruised right hand. Infielder Nick Punto was pulled with a strained oblique after the third inning. His could be the most severe of the three injuries, and it could lead to the Cardinals shuttling shortstop Tyler Greene back from Class AAA Memphis, where he has hit .317 in 32 games since his demotion.

The Cardinals avoided using Lance Berkman (shoulder) and third baseman David Freese (hamstring) was removed after six innings in the field to protect his leg."

Still wouldn't be worth it to me.

The "Cub thing" ought to trouble us all, no matter what context.

I missed everything after the fourth inning. Had to drown my sorrows after my team got eliminated from the basketball playoffs.
