He was awful. I don't recall one swing and miss. He was nibbling early in the count, fell behind and then had to come over the plate with slop and got tattooed. He was lucky he didn't give up about 10 runs. He got out of the first inning by retiring the pitcher on a 400-foot flyout with the bases loaded, got out of the second with a double play, and he got spared a huge inning in the third when Cameron hit a ball that would have been halfway up the bleachers in St. Louis, but it ended up in Jay's glove about 10 feet in front of the 434-foot marker.
Cameron hit another ball off McClellan in the fifth that ended up being caught in about the same spot. He hit two pitches that traveled a combined 850 feet, and ended up with nothing to show for it. And I think Furcal also robbed him of a single in the first inning with a diving catch of a line drive.

Furcal looks like a wizard wih the glove compared to what we had been seeing.  His arm is great to.  He turned a couple double playes that Theriot wouldnt have had the arm to complete and made a hand full of plays the would not have been in Theriot's range.

He so good he reminds me of a poor man's Brendan Ryan, and what makes him even better, he's free from all the personal baggage that made Ryan a clubhouse cancer.
