Nice drive by Berkman and even better slide. Somebody is going to pay him 15 million in 2012.

Can Loshe please finish the year strong so they can unload him!?!

Throwing waist high fastballs to Cargo isn't the best approach.

Throwing them to anyone isnt a very good approach.

Yeah, it didn't really work with Helton either.

What's the record for the most times a team has hit into a double play in a season? The Cardinals ought to have obliterated it by now.

Freese has the biggest at bat of the game here.

Not sure I like Yadi bunting there, but it was a good one.

I have no idea why you'd play the third baseman in there.

Now I get it. They were obviously setting up the inning for Lohse's at bat.

Question for you St. Louisans. What's the deal with the "Cheap, cheap; Fun, fun" spots? Is it an advertisement for a whorehouse (and I'm pretty sure prostitution is legal in neither Missouri nor Illinois)?

This inning has been nice but mostly lucky. Grounders finding holes, catchers bunting and pitchers driving in runs.

Booze and smokes I believe but I am not a St. Louisan.

I remember those ads. They must have sucked because I couldn't tell you what they are for, but AP's response--booze and smokes--sounds right.

credit the edmonds for freese trade as one of the best for the cardinals in recent years.

The fucking Brewers are winning 4-0 in the 7th. The Cardinals cant catch them if they dont lose. They still have 6 games vs them this year. If they keep pace they still have an outside chance.

That was billed as a nothing trade. A washed up player for a mid 20s prospect who had never played above AA ball. Freese has proved to be a major leaguer when healthy and Edmonds went on to have an impact year with he Cubs after he was cut by the Pardes.

Pirates are making a little noise late. Greinke was nasty tonight before he got tired. His splitter was dropping about a foot right in front of the plate.

Geez, McClellan. Let's not give these guys hope.

It's an ad for Dirt Cheap. They're a discount beer, liquor and cigarettes store. "Cheap, cheap; Fun, fun" is their most recent slogan. At one time they were the "Home of the 30 dime wine," and for a while, their closing slogan was "the more she drinks, the better you'll look."

When guys drink and smoke they wish there were hot half naked chicks. It is a selling point. I am guessing it works better then telling guys they need to buy cheap booze in order to make their boring lives with standable. Today I played with the kids in the kiddy pool, took them out to eat at fast food and to the park. If you told me a case of cheap beer would put me in a hot tub with chicks I would buy a keg.
