8/24 Gamecrap

Swept at home by a horrible Dodgers' team.
A perfect epitaph.

Apparently there was a baseball game today! The average score of the series? 8 - 2.3

Someone tried to give me a hard time about the Cardinals yesterday, and my response was something like "The Brewers are in first place because they deserve to be there." Not much more to be said.

Fall is a great time of the year.  Football and bowhunting.

Not to pile on, but according to USA Today, that was the Dodgers' first road sweep of the season and the first time they have swept a series in St. Louis since 1993.

Re: 8/24 Gamecrap

Strauss said that Carpenter was claimed on waivers, but the Cardinals pulled him back. I hope they have an unspoken agreement that Carp is coming back next year, because this may have been a good opportunity for the Cardinals to get something valuable in 2012 and beyond.

Re: 8/24 Gamecrap

I'm guessing the Cardinals didn't put Molina on waivers and it might be heresy, but if something could be worked out with him in a trade, I personally would listen. He's going to be 30, he's going to be making $7 million and this is probably his absolute peak season. When I was still paying attention, it seemed like he was having his usual so-so effort at blocking pitches. The arm is still there, but he's already got a bad body and will likely eclipse 1,100 innings for the third straight season.

Re: 8/24 Gamecrap

I agree on Molina.  I dont think  he adds as much to the club as TLR and the broadcast booth think.  However you do have the Pujols-factor.

I haven't been on here for a while due to a family emergency with my mother but I'm not surprised to see these comments.  I just wanted to see if you all were as bummed as I was about the season.
