I am about 50/50 on blaming Patterson. On the Howard double he made a hell of a throw and a clean play. He made that play clean and better hen anyone else could have on the Cardnals roster. As for the error on the game tieing play I dont think anyone else gets a glove on it except Jay. Craig surely woudnt have got there. However Patterson has got to make that catch. It hit his glove.
More so then Patterson I blame Motte. He has the count at 0-2 with 2 outs in the 9th and everyone with a pulse is sitting 100% fastball. That is why he is not a closer. Salas might not be quite ready but neither is Motte.

Tums?? I grabbed two more Natties. Now McCellan is in. Any bets on a walkoff HR?

The Braves announcers are whining that the Phillies lost.

Salas bleeds ice water. Huge win! 3.5 seems almost doable.

I missed the first 10 innings. How egregious was Patterson's error?

Remember when Rasmus dropped the ball in San Francisco? It was on that level.
The defensive replacements were unnecessary. Berkman was playing in left and Craig is in right. They are both fine at those positions.
Jay was stupidly lifted for Theriot against Bastardo, who destroys both sides of the plate. But, you just had to get your second hottest hitter out of the game.

I just saw the on the MLBN (yeah I get that now and it is awesome) and I may have overvalued the placement of the ball. I dont think it would have been an easy play for Craig but he is able to make those kinds of plays. I would have rather had Patterson out there though. I cant believe he dropped it.
I dont think anyone has mentioned the awesome at bat by Chambers to win the game.
The Mets just gave up a run in the 8th to give the Braves a one run lead. We need them to keep losing. The Cards need to at least get within 2 games headed into Houston for the last series of the season to have a chance. The Braves will be matched up against the Phillies for the last 3 games.
