2.5 to go boys!
We need a "hard 9 (games)". Come home and let's blast the Mets!

I cannot believe they are 2.5 back. This is unreal.

I hope you see the Bonifacio replay. He hit a Baltimore chop down the third base line that should have been the last out, but the ball was so high Chipper lost it in the lights.

The Braves have to officially be feeling snakebit now.

Nine games left. If the Braves play .500, Cardinals must go 7-2. May as well shoot for all nine, eh?

They're going to pick up a game on the Brewers tonight. How about a division title?

That might just be a burning sensation Chipper has been experiencing since his last trollop.

I think a hold may be a more bullshit stat than the quality start you adore so much.

I now believe the Cardinals have a chance. Cardinals play three game series with he Mets, Cubs and Houston. The Braves have two more with the Marlins and then three with the Nationals and Phillies.

With the Braves losing Jurrjens and Hanson and Derek Lowe in full meltdown mode, they have a solid chance. And there is no reason for the Cardinals to stumble against the Mets. Here was their starting lineup on Saturday:
Reyes
Pagan
Wright
Duda
Bay
Evans
Thole
Tejada

"And there is no reason for the Cardinals to stumble against the Mets."
Sadly, the way this team has played most of the season, that's exactly why they'll struggle.

Yeah, I can't help but feel like we're going to see a repeat of 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010. They get right there on the cusp and just fall apart. I wish La Russa could do some tinkering that puts Westbrook on the bench for the rest of the season, but it's not feasible. Here's how the rest of the season shakes out with the rotation:
Tuesday - Jackson
Wednesday - Garcia
Thursday - Westbrook
Friday (CHC) - Carpenter
Saturday - Lohse
Sunday - Jackson
Monday - Garcia
Tuesday - Westbrook
Wednesday - Carpenter
I feel good about Jackson and Garcia. I'm always worried about Carpenter's late season breakdowns and Lohse/Westbrook are a coin flip.

Cardinals vs Mets: Jackson vs Pelfery, Pelfery pitched 7 shoutout inning VS the Nationals in his last outing. Before that he had allowed 25 runs in 45 innings. Other then getting stomped by the Brewers a month and a half ago Jackson has been lights out. He has only allowed one home run in the last 5 starts.
Braves vs Marlins: Delgado (rookie) vs Sanchez, Sanchez has pitched very well his last three outinging including a CG shoutout two starts go agaisnt the Pirates. However he has lost his last two meeting vs the Braves. July 30th he went 5 inning allowing 4 runs and August 10 he went 1.2 innings allowing 5 runs. Delgado went 5 inning Sept 14 agaisnt the Braves allowing one run. He looks to be a 5 inning pitcher. This will be his first time of facing a MLB team for the second time.
