WOOO HOOOOO is right. Cards win, Braves lose. The difference is one game. I'd say the Wild Card is now officially up for grabs.

In a way we could hardly have chosen a worse opponent for the Braves. No matter Charlie Manuel says about competing, I think the Phillies have now clinched home field advantage throughout the playoffs, and they'd be fools not to set their rotation and give their regulars a bit of added rest. Yeah, you don't want to go into the playoffs having lost your edge, but I think its almost impossible that they won't ease up just a bit.

Their rotation is already set.

The Phillies just got rocked in the series they had with the Nationals. They can coast if they want and it wont hurt their playoff position. However if they are smart they will want to win this series vs the Braves to get some momentum heading into the playoffs. I am a huge Phillies fan right now. I would give Charlie Manuel a sponge bath if he can figure out a way to sweep the Braves.

Playoff tickets are on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. CST. I'm thinking of just jinxing the team and trying to buy some.

It's up to the baseball gods. I would have swore when we were 1.5 out and playing the Mets that we were going to take it. Two days later, and I'd swear we were toast. Two days later, and we're 1 out with 3 to play.
It seems like if I get my hopes up, we're fucked, so I'm just gonna say we're toast!

Cards v. Astros
Garcia (13-11) v. Rodriguez (11-11)

Phillies v. Braves
Delgado (1-1) v. Lee (16-8)
Lowe (9-16) v. Worley (11-3)
Hudson (16-10) v. Oswalt (8-10)

I see two Cardinals nemeses in Wandy and Wife Beater who would love to spoil the season.

Advantage Cardinals IMO

Does it help that the Astros had their ass handed to them by the Rockies? 19 to 3 is more like a football game!

So I go away for a couple of days and the Cardinals rise from the ashes ... again?

The offense completely went in the tank this series, but somehow they came out alive.

Ha! Some people must say we're f*cked & some people must "go away" to give the Cards luck perhaps? (wink)

If it helps the Cardinals, I'll live in an igloo.
Not literally. Spiritually. Mostly because I can't subsist on whale blubber.
