Re: 30/100/100/.300

Pujols sits at .2996.  Any sort of multi-hit game (so long as he has fewer than 7 ABs) pushes him over .300.  1 for 3 gets him to .2998 which would round up to .300.  1 for 4 drops him to .2993 and the streak of .300 seasons comes to an end.

Still holding at 98 RBI.

Of course, it is possible the Cardinals play 163 games this season.

Re: 30/100/100/.300

It's obvious he wants to get the 100 RBI, and it's screwing up his pitch selection. The Astros announcers were wondering why he batted in the ninth last night. I can't imagine anyone more anxious to see this season end than two guys who have watched the Astros play the first 161 games.

Re: 30/100/100/.300

It will be a shame for Pujols to battle his way back from that start and not get there.  A three run homer in the first would get things off to a nice start.

"A three run homer in the first would get things off to a nice start"

Works for everyone, including Kim Myers, who will have time to renew her restraining order before Brett comes home in a bad mood.

I hope Kim has the Battered wives' shelter on speed dial.

How do you feel about the Raiders kick now that his story has come out?

got off the plane and into my rental car and flipped on the radio.

super excited that the Cards are in the playoffs.

a bit nonplussed that the Cards can score so many runs in the past two games and still not get Pujols to 100 RBIs and keep his BA above .300.  like 2007, this season will see him miss his bench marks by statistically insignificant 1 point deficits, but the nice round numbers sure make fancy window dressing.  sorry to see it end.

I've never been particularly fond of Janikowski's antics, a sentiment which I've expressed if not here on the old yahoo board a number of times, but the circumstances aren't the same. Myers knocked his wife to the sidewalk and dragged her by the hair in front of about 20 people. That's a little different than maybe or maybe not pushing some drunk stranger who's harassing you in a bar and then comes forward eight months later when she finds out he's a professional athlete.
