Furcal, SS
Craig. RF
Pujols, 1B
Berkman. LF
Freese, 3B
Molina, C
Schumaker, 2B
Jay, CF
Lohse, P
Rollins, SS
Utley, 2B
Pence, RF
Howard, 1B
Victorino, CF
Ibanez, LF
Polanco, 3B
Ruiz, C
Halladay, P
I'm surprised they are going with Schumaker over Punto, and I don't think La Russa is oozing confidence in Jay right now.

why move berkman to left?
i see two larussa-isms that i think many others would have done differently: choosing westbrook over mcclellan (puts the burden on mozeliak), schu over punto (too many la russa bucks).

I don't agree with putting Westbrook on the roster either, but I don't think McClellan should be there. He ended September with almost as many strikeouts (6) as home runs (5). I do believe his arm is dead.

Agree with TK. McClellan's last outing just looked like a guy who didn't want to be on the mound.
I would have taken Sanchez over Westbrook or McClellan.

"why move berkman to left?"
Didn't Berkman play in left in the Philadelphia series earlier this month under the rationale there's less room to cover?
This is a good sign that LaRussa thinks they don't have a shot in hell at winning the series doing things the way they've done them during the regular season. If he manages like that instead of having tight-ass, it's better for the Cardinals.

I'm honored!
Furcal singles off Halladay. There will be no repeat of TTTIB in 2010.

Great start. I'm looking for a repeat of the September Lohse-Halladay matchup.

i haven't had a chance to watch him in the field much, but isn't craig the guy who we were told had no place on defense? does this mean he's better in RF than berkman (who hasn't been terrible).
btw: did patterson make the roster?

Six pitches for Lohse. Everything was down in the zone. Great start.

I agree 100%. However I wouldnt rule out putting him on the roster for the next series.

Big inning upcoming for Lohse. The Phillies made good contact in the third.

Berkman started 16 games in LF this year. He also started 16 games at 1st. That is one out of every 5 games that he was moved from right field. Moving him out of RF is normal when there is a less demanding defensive position open. It is smart.

They were 100% wrong about Craig. He is a average fielder at both LF and RF. He has shown that he can step out of his comfort zone and play both 2nd and cf. He played 3b in the minors. Sometimes scouts get it wrong.

What the fuck is David Freese doing???

WTF Freese? He could have turned around and caught it normal.

Costing the Cardinals a run.

I'm still not convinced to this day that Freese is a third baseman.

Better then Thurston and Feliz but not near as good as the guys who's name is on the back of my shirt...Rolen.
In TLR mid game interview (I hate those) he stated that Descalso was likely to be put in for a late inning defensive replacement. Funny thing is that I dont think Descalso wasnt thought of as a third baseman or a shortstop before making the major league roster.

Something needs to be said about the size, shape and color of Loshe's balls.

Yeah it is over with. The Cardinals need to figure out how to wint his game without scoring another run. Halladay is going 9 tonight. To bad Freese cost the Cardinals a needless run.

14 straight.
Another big inning upcoming for Lohse.
