No Holiday again. For some reason I expected the pitcher to bat 8th tonight.

The Cardinals have to win this game.

still no punto.

i like movement on Carp's fastball. the first two pitches to Rollins missed, but they looked wicked.

leadoff triple and double wasted. we don't deserve to win.

Well at least the last month of the regular season was fun.
As Max said, wasting a leadoff triple is stupid. Wasting a leadoff double is dumb.
It was a bad move to start Loshe in game one and a worst move to start Carp on three days rest.

craig sells the walk, although i'm not sure he didn't just strike out.

not so fast. i think carp might be settling down and finding his groove. now the bats need to catch up.

Hey, at least Carpenter will be able to start Game 5 on regular rest.

a splendid time for jay to break out of his slump.

CRAP!
WHY PINCH HIT FOR CARP WHEN HE JUST STARTED LOOKING GOOD???
I would have liked to have seen Carp swing away on the first pitch over the plate, and then have him lay down a suicide squeeze on the next pitch.

one more reason i don't like the hard slide at home. if jay had just dropped down into a regular slide he would have easily been under any possible tag.

Tony comes out swinging. I hear a big fine coming his way.

Jay was out by 10 feet. Do you think if he had been able to slide in safely, he would have? You only take a shot at the catcher when you see he's got the ball.

Watch it again Artie. You're just plain wrong about this one.

No he is not. The catcher went with a high tag because of the runner was not slidding. If the runner would have slid then the Catcher would have blocked with a low tag.

I vote that Pujols start hitting like Pujols and the pitching staff starts walking Howard every time.

FYI: the video highlight is already available on mlb.com. The slow mo replay is as clear as anything that the throw arrived with jay less than a full stride from home.

the "tag" was the spot where the ball hit mitt, and runner and ball arrived almost simultaneously.

Dotel just does not look like a baseball player.

"I vote that Pujols start hitting like Pujols"
Did that work?
