    This is what I have complained bitterly about La Russa for 10 years: a pitcher has clearly lost it and he won't make the proactive switch on accounta . . . somethin'.

    The 3-0 count on the lead-off batter after the struggles last inning told me Jaime had lost his effectiveness.

    You cant always pull the plug at first sight of trouble.  That would cause your pitchers to try and be to fine.  I agree with sticking with Garcia.  If you go to the bullpen over and over you will get burnt.

    Back to the top of the lineup.  Furcal has really sucked it up tonight at the plate.  He has leadoff 3 times and hasnt done shit.  Never mind, he has leadoff 4 times and not done shit.

    I figured they would burn Holliday in this situation.  Yahoo said that it was extremly painfull to swing during his at bat in game one.  If I was him I would wait on "my pitch" and unload for better or worst.

    start of the game they were very upbeat.  an mri showed no damage, and he reported no pain.  took bp before game and was swinging freely by the end.

    who said always?  in a game like this i'd go with my gut.  my gut clearly told me danger was in the air and i posted as much.
