Missouri Likely Headed to the SEC

Not necessarily a good thing from the standpoint of on-the-field results, but IMO, the right call in light of their options.  No reason to stay and remain at the mercy of Texas for the rest of your existence.

I guess we'll see over time if Missouri can bring its game up to a competitive level or whether they become an SEC door mat.

Re: Missouri Likely Headed to the SEC

The BCS subdivision is going to end up with four conferences - the Not-Entirely-Southeastern Conference, the Huge East Conference, the Big 10-but-we're-stubborn-and-it's-really-32, and the Pac-64.
And Notre Dame steadfastly defending its indepedence. People at Notre Dame apparently love to play with themselves.

"People at Notre Dame apparently love to play with themselves."

That might explain why our senior attorney (who has no problem telling anyone he attended Notre Dame LAW SCHOOL--as if it someone makes him better than those who simply went there for under-grad) walks around the office most days with his fly down.

"he attended Notre Dame LAW SCHOOL"

If I worked in your office, I would have thrown him out of a window by now.
And, yes, I'm aware of what floor you're on.

Re: Missouri Likely Headed to the SEC

I wish Missouri would have been the team that enter the Big Ten.  Add a team that is going to draw the football crowd is clearly a smart move but I think it would have been fun for Missouri to be in there.

Re: Missouri Likely Headed to the SEC

I think if Missouri had its choice, they would choose the Big 10 over the SEC.  The Big 10 has a much higher academic standing.  It also has the revenue stream from the Big 10 Network, although there is a rumor that ESPN is going to partner with the SEC to start an SEC Network in the next year or two.

As far as what is the best for the Big Ten IDK.  I assume football pays the bills but Missouri offers middle of the pack football and baseball programs.  The Cornhuskers are top of the heap at football and bottom dwellers in basketball.
