It's likely to be:
Lohse vs. Greinke
Jackson vs. Marcum
Carpenter vs. Gallardo
Garcia vs. WolfFuck that. Give me Garcia in Game 1 (4 days rest) so he can also pitch Game 5. I don't like any rotation that doesn't let Garcia pitch twice (and once at home). Either Lohse or Jackson for Game 2 and the other for Game 4.
Good call. Time for him to get over his away issues. And pitching the opening game should help him prove there's no problem with his glue.
So how do the work a seven game series now, 2-3-2, such that game 5 is in St. Louis?

I was jazzed when they beat the Mets in '06, and I really, really enjoyed them beating the evil Giants in '87, but considering where these were in August and how many times I'd written them off, I'd probably have to agree.
Speaking of the '87 Giants, I wonder how the TBS folks told Brenly he wasn't working Game 5 tonight?

He may get lazy at times blocking balls, but Molina still has a rocket for an arm.
FYI: "Molina . . . became the first catcher to nail Utley stealing this season. Utley had been 14 for 14 and 56 for 58, dating to 2009."
And FWIW, I think he got mad at himself because he was blocking balls much more aggressively last night.

Yes, Game 5 would be in St. Louis.
As far Garcia and his "glue," Chad tells me to watch to see if he starts pawing at the mound/rubber. When he starts doing that, he's frustrated/distracted/about to lose it.

Hmm . . . thanks for the tip. I am still dubious that there is a glue issue, and feel that is more an invention some people have made up to explain why he does well some times and poorly at other times. All of the Cardinal starting pitchers have had good stretches and bad stretches, all have had some bad innings. Are they all made of made cheap glue?

Interesting. As far as defending his makeup is concerned, people forget he's a kid who has pitched two full years in the majors. He's still learning his trade. A very difficult trade that's witnessed by 40,000 critics every night.
