Commence the meltdown because this is about to get out of hand.
Garcia has done a nice job of not getting blownup. His pitch count is high but I didnt think he was going to get out of the first. That would have really hurt the Cardinals chances this series by burning the pen so early. I didnt like Lynn warming up. He has been on the DL and like could have gone only 2 innings. I figured they would go with McCellan instead.
No worries now with Freese nutting a HR over the wall. That guy is either looks like shit or is nailing it.
Max, I wouldnt be suprised if TLR wouldnt put Delscalso in center if needed.

Good grief, Garcia.
He is having a really hard time locating in the bottom of the zone isnt he. I cant believe he has made it this far. He has almost got his 5 inning in.
Oh and I agree on Berkman. He seems lost and he hasnt look that way all year. He needs to take a walk or two.

God damn it PUJOLS. It isnt pressing if you have done it all year. When you are a future hall of famer you are supposed to be able to drive in a runner on third with less then 2 oluts.
Thank god. Berkman comes through.

Yank Jamie for crying out loud. His pitch count was up and facing the top of the lineup. why no short leash?
Jesus, Fielder goes yard

6-5 Ugh.

"Thank god. Berkman comes through."
And Garcia made it irrelevant in 4 batters. Nice work Jamie.

what the hell is La Russa doing???! At what point did he think Garcia was rolling?????

8-5 Yikes.

I think it is time to put McCellan in and save the bullpen.

Good God. Still only one out. This game was in the bag, and now it's almost time to run up the white flag.

Pujols has to stop rolling over and killing rallies. He is to good a ballplayer to not be able to hit a pop fly.

Yellow shirt is now wearing a navy shirt over a white tan top in case anyone was wondering.

no that chambers pinch hit, he is the back-up.
this was my point, if you use chambers as a pinch hitter/runner, you better find a place for him to play and keep him the game. because if you burn him, you suddenly find yourself with descalso/craig/berkman as your options for CF if anything happens to Jay.

whelp, that sucked.

I couldn't watch after the Brewers went ahead. Well that and my lawn desparately needed to be cut. I've never been so thankful for an excuse to not watch baseball. Or whatever that was the boys from St. Louis were playing.
Oh well, only 1 game of a 7 game series. We can still get a split tomorrow.

True but losing this game was a waste. They had the run support. Garcia shouldnt start another game on the road in the playoffs.

I'll bet Westbrook is feeling pretty smug right about now.

I'm wondering why they put Pouty McClellan on the roster. They watched him in September(I'm assuming) and they left him off the LDS roster because they knew he was shit, so why bring him back?
For every boneheaded move TLR has made he's come back with two good ones, so I'll just hope he has the stupidity out of his system.

"I couldn't watch after the Brewers went ahead"
I *watched* the first six innings on my wife's Blackberry, driving back from Cape Cod, my mood darkening with each refreshment during the Brewers' fateful 6-run rally.

I told my g/f before the inning started that it would be the game's most important since Garcia seems to break down at times like those. After Hairston ripped that double, I said "time to pull him." After Braun doubles I'm losing my shit. Fielder steps in and homers then I really lose it. I couldn't watch after that.
Why La Russa was trying to squeeze another inning out of Garcia there was just mind-boggling. They have 12 pitchers on the roster and a day off on Tuesday, yet he's acting like he needs to conserve his bullpen. I swear, La Russa is the only person who would take a coat to the Bahamas on the chance it would snow.

"my g/f"
Is this a new development?

Tried to post this earlier and Safari froze.
Bernie was apoplectic:
The only part I disagree with is the axiomatic claim that La Russa is too quick with the hook. My longtime opinion has been that his instinct to pull a pitcher or leave him in is all fucked up and he's as likely to leave a guy in too long as he is to pull a pitcher too quickly.

Nah, it's been spanning most of 2011.

Any good g/f project is a labor of love.
