The Brewers are not he team to be calling Carp out. However I agree with what Greinke has said. I have said it many times over the course of the season. Carp is to good to have to act like an ass-clown on the mound.

but that's different from being a phony. i think he's a real ass.

Yeah, Carpenter can definitely get on the opposing team's nerves, but I don't think who he is on the mound and who he is in person is much different. Hockey players are normally a bit off.

I dont think he is phony either. He seems to be as focused as anyone can be. I understand the comments and how other teams feel. If he was a Cub, Red or Brewer he would be Cardinals' fans most hated player.

I don't think he's that bad. Zambrano on ANY team would lead the list of genuine grade-A assholes in MLB. Carp is a heated guy, but he's not unfair about his emotions. When he's pissed, such as in game 2, he tends to have reasonable grounds for being a bit unreasonable in his behavior. But all that aside, the smile he let out after surrendering a long fly ball to . . . Howard, I think, on a 3-0 pitch that might have caught too much of the plate, all showed that he can also be very relaxed out there, even with a one run lead in an elimination game.
My vote is that Carpenter is fiery but likable.

Zambrano is more hated by his own teammates then other teams.

"However I agree with what Greinke has said."
I don't. In fact, it might be one of the most ridiculous comments I've ever heard from a baseball player, especially one who resides in the same dugout as a guy who calls himself "Tony Plush."

Well Greinke didnt ask to be on the same team as T-Plush. I dont agree with the phony comment. The rest about Carp yelling at batters and such I find very true.

I understand that. But one of T-Plush's teammates commenting about Carpenter's alleged phoniness seems a little hypocritical, like Roseanne Barr's husband telling another guy his wife could stand to lose a few pounds.

I dontblieve the phony comments were on mark but the other were. I doubt Greinke takes place in "beast Mode".

Hard to take anyone serious when they have Morgan at the plate and Franky "Disco each strike" Rodriguez showing up the stadium every other pitch.
Just sayin...

What else did he say? The only quote I read was him speaking on behalf of the National League, of which he's been a member for one season, that Carpenter is considered to have a phony personality. The only other team I've ever known to have an on-going problem with Carpenter is the Reds, which he beat something like a dozen times in a row before he had the nerve to throw his back into poor Johnny Cueto's spikes.

Has Janey had a sex-change operation?
