Jay doesn't immediately hack. Good start.

Why isn't LaRussa using Loshe? I think this was too soon for Carp.
It's Carp's regular turn. If you don't start him tonight, he only pitches once in a 7 game series. That can't happen.
Did I miss a game that Loshe pitched in?
Lohse pitches tomorrow. Garcia pitched Game 1 so he could also pitch Game 5 at home where he's much better. They switched Jackson and Lohse, so Jackson pitched Game 2 and will start Game 6, if there is a Game 6. Carp last started on Friday. He's had 4 days rest which is normal rest. If there is a Game 7, it would be Monday which would allow Carp another 4 days rest.
Lohse hasn't pitched since Game 1 against Philly.

If they get Jay out, I'm penciling in an IBB for Pujols and an out for Holliday.

He just got overpowered on a 92-mph fastball. They have to sit him for the remainder of this series.

Holliday has to drop to #6, at least. Yadi hsn't been any better or I'd consider dropping him to #7.
C'mon Tony. The team got hot in 2006 after you benched Rolen. Do what's best for the team.

If Schumaker were healthy, I'd bench Holliday, Berkman and Molina. Those guys are useless.

This is risky going back to Lynn. Tony's got some huge ones.

The way this game started I am amazed that this one run lead has held up for the past 3.2 innings.

Is that 6 straight fly ball outs? Wonder how Dunc's blood pressure is doing.

Sad, but true.

Any early prediction on who starts the 8th? Lynn? Dotel? Have to assume Rhodes gets Fielder.

I think you are far too critical of Molina. He has made some key defensive plays and that's why he's there, not to mention his relationship with the pitchers. He shouldn't be batting in front of Freese, and probably not Punto, either, but that doesn't mean you bench him for Laird.
Holliday has an excuse and might be more effective as a pinch hit threat. Berkman has struggled, which is weird, but maybe a shift to batting #2 might help.
In any event, move Freese up!

God, if we meet Texas, walk Cruz every time he comes up.

I wouldn't object to a couple of runs here.

Texas' lineup is sick. Cruz is hitting 7th.

Not a bad guess. Dotel, Rhodes and ???? Motte?

The double plays stopped being funny in July.

Another Cardinal double play. Big shock.

Nope, Lynn for Braun, Scrabble for Fielder . . . then Dotel? I see Motte warming up. La Russa could be thinking of a 4 out save.

I'm afraid this will be the team's MO again next season. Pujols, Jay, Molina, Freese, Schumaker/Theriot and to a slightly lesser extent, Holliday, are all ground ball hitters.

Nice work Scrabble
And those are 6 big outs over 2 games for Lynn. He's earned a lot of Larussa Bucks.
Not sure I like the 4 out save, but I suppose you can't worry about tomorrow at this point.

Agreed. i would've gone with Dotel. Whatever happens here, I won't begrudge La Russa.

Motte is filthy right now. Absolutely filthy.
Still got another inning to go with Ruth-Gehrig-Muesel coming up.

I'm confused. Shouldn't Motte have pumped his fist, beat his chest, moon walked and made a gesture like a Disney character there?
