I think La Russa is feeling very confident in his BP, not so much in his starters, and the sting of the criticism of having left Garcia in too long in Game 1.

Perhaps, but Larussa seemed like he was going to let Garcia continue until he stepped off and then Larussa came sprinting out of the dug out. I think he was terrified the implosion was coming.

I don't think Larussa gives a damn about media criticism.

Not really, but if Chad's aware of this "tell," so is Larussa. I'm at a bowling alley and not watching every moment, but it didn't look to me like Larussa's normal, take the glasses off, stroll to the mound change. It looked like he was worried Garcia would throw another pitch and he wanted to get out there before he could.

Re: NLCS Game 5

Not wanting to get too far ahead of ourselves, but wouldn't it be sweet if we hang on, Jackson closes them out in Game 6, and we have Carp rested and ready to go for Game 1, WS, Busch stadium.  Nice rotation:

Carp
Garcia
Jackson
Lohse
Carp
Garcia
Carp

Re: NLCS Game 5

As much as we bitch, from the other team's perspective it must seem almost unfair to have to pitch through Pujols, Berkman, and Holliday, and THEN have Freese turn into a bona fide threat.

Re: NLCS Game 5

Max, I'd expect a nasty note from Artie for that one.

I just realized that the song "Written in the Stars" that they keep playing is NOT by U2.

Re: NLCS Game 5

When Holliday speaks he reminds me of some other recent Cardinal, but I can't think of which one.  Any suggestions?

Liking Mottaduce more every day too... Duncan should get a Nobel Prize for teaching that guy how to pitch. Sure be nice if they could finish this and not have to depend on Edwin Jackson to stay alive in Game 6.

Well hey there Windy!  Mott is overcoming that Mottaduce thing (wink)

Max, there's a guy on Twitter called "Fakehungo" (Fake Al Hrabosky, of course). One day he asked for Cardinal look-alikes. I, of course, being unafraid to regurgitate my own takes into perpetuity, shared my "David Bowie=Dave Duncan" and the dual "((Kyle Lohse=Ted from the Bill & Ted Movies) AND (Khalil Greene=Bill from the Bill & Ted movies))".

Another guy shared his take... Matt Holliday=Charlie Brown

Drat!

Good ones all, but I am looking for real look-alikes.  For example, Descalso is a John Mabry look-alike.  Hollliday is not so much a look alike, as his interview style and voice reminds me of someone.  I'm almost thinking it's Edmonds.
