BTW Max, you posted previously about the series MVP. If it ends tonight, the MVP just grounded out to 3rd.

A big game tonight helped his cause, and I think you're probably right.  On the other hand, the bullpen will pitch at least 7 innings tonight, and we clearly would have been blown out of this series if the bullpen had not come up big.

Re: NLCS 6th and deciding game

With Braun 3 batters away, this has to be Dotel, right?

AP, not sure if you're flipping channels to the football game, but it looks like the Christian Ponder era is underway.

No comments yet on the crash in Vegas?  Holy moly it looked like Armageddon.

Re: NLCS 6th and deciding game

Oops.  That was dumb . . . and dangerous.

La Russa wasn't very happy about it either.

I was but gave that up pretty quick.  It is about 3 weeks to late on that call.  From what I have read Joe Webb would be  better fit.  Ponder was told to be pretty raw.

Wow. That's as bad as I've ever seen Braun look.

Re: NLCS 6th and deciding game

Wow, you can just hear the defeat in Anderson's voice. Completely unprofessional. I don't blame him for being bummed, but that's why he shouldn't be calling this series in the first place.

Heard about it, but haven't seen it.

Re: NLCS 6th and deciding game

Rhodes to start the 8th. Then Lynn? Let Rhodes continue if he gets Prince?

Re: NLCS 6th and deciding game

Not pretty. Those cars are made to come apart and lessen impact.

Re: NLCS 6th and deciding game

I'm on my blackberry, so I couldn't really see what specifically happened to Wheldon. I've seen NASCAR accidents, particularly the restrictor plate races with crashes that looked a lot worse.

Re: NLCS 6th and deciding game

That felt like a really big run for some reason. Let's finish this thing.

I wouldn't have minded if Prince had connected right there.

15 cars out of a 34 car line-up.  I'm pretty sure that Wheldon was the one that went airborne, flipped, and hit the wall.

Molina is so fucking lazy behind that plate. It's getting ridiculous.

I was driving home on the play where the ball went to the backstop and Yadi didn't hustle after it. The ESPN Radio announcer (I don't remember whether it was Sciambi or Valentine) expressed near-certainty that Yadi had "pulled a groin muscle". I'm guessing he was wrong.

Nice play, John Jay!
