Re: World Series Game 4

Jay is 0-12 this series.  I wish there was another option at center right now.

Re: World Series Game 4

If Holland keeps getting a strike a whole foot off the plate, the Cardinals have no shot.

Re: World Series Game 4

Two early observations:

1) I think Tk is right, Scott Boras is going to convince some sucker to give Edwin Jackson too much money and too many years. He's a quality #4 pitcher on a good team, but someone is going to pay him #2-3 money and be really disappointed.

2) How does anyone actually enjoy watching AL baseball? It's a 1-0 game, the teams have combined for 4 hits and 1 run and yet it has taken nearly an hour and a half to play 4 innings. A 1-0 game should never be on pace to last 3 1/2 hours.

Re: World Series Game 4

Yeah, Joe, Kinsler made a nice play on Yadi, but it wasn't THAT stellar. If my maternal grandmother, who died at age 96 nine years ago, had been running she'd have been safe and it might be 1-1 right now.

Re: World Series Game 4

The game last night was painfully long.  I enjoyed the outcome but without the pitcher batting it takes away situational batting and adds an hour to the game.

At least Jackson hasnt let this thing get away from him.  Alot of deep flies though.

Man, has he ever been living dangerously. You can see why he's not a top starter, but I will give him credit for heart.

I wish they would have shown a shot of Yadi running.  It looked to me from what I seen that he was loafing.  I cursed and said something about Yadi being the slowest human alive.  I like how you have included your grandmother into the mix of things faster then yadi.

They never showed Molina from home, but judging by how messed up his footwork around first base was, I'd guess he had started to take a turn around first before he realized Kinsler fielded the ball.

Re: World Series Game 4

94 pitches through 5. Every out he gets them from here on is a bonus.

There's something I want to say about the way this game and series have gone thus far but no jinxes allowed.

Re: World Series Game 4

Is it just me or is Joe Buck the best play by play guy on TV.  He doesnt try to act like he has played the game and doesnt make it about himself.  To me he is just great to listen to.

Now that you mention it, I agree.

Re: World Series Game 4

My 11 year old isn't left handed and can't throw a curveball, but he's got a better mustache than Derek Holland.

Re: World Series Game 4

Didn't appear anyone warming up in the Cardinals' bullpen.

Oh my.

Never mind. Thanks Dunc.

7 walks. Jesus, if we could somehow get out of this inning it'd be a miracle.

Re: World Series Game 4

Here comes Boggs.  I feel like this whole game has been a white flag being raised.  I think they hope to keep the pen from being burnt to bad and want to take their chances with winning tomorrow night with Carp on the mound.  Heading back to St. Louis up 3-2 needing to split at home to win wouldnt be to bad.

Re: World Series Game 4

I hope that Boggs' warmup time and body language don't indicate tentativeness...

Re: World Series Game 4

Cards pen has been living on first pitch strikes, and last night they called Salas out on it, and tonight they got Boggs.  That's not Boggs so much as it is a problem by Duncan to respond strategically, IMO.
