Cardinals season is over (again), so their best baseball is coming.

Well guys here we go again, the Cardinals have played themselves into the "it would take a miracle" box. How many times have we written them off, only to have them play themselves back into it? Cardiac Cardinals. Here's a clip from one of my friends in Philly (I used to play an online game with a couple of brothers from Philly).

"That Phils-Cards game was brutal, that shit took, years off of my life.  I have a lot more respect for the Cards offense after these last three games."

We've taken on the best team in baseball, got clubbed, and scratched out a respectable score. We the posted them to a 4 run lead, and used 6 innings of bullpen to beat them anyway, against one of their aces. In this last game? One hammered mistake pitch, one bad double play by Craig, and they leak out a win they didn't really deserve.

This team wasn't supposed to get here, so we've already been blessed. Think about what a healthy Holiday, or a healthy Wainright adds to our club, and maybe what might have been. We'll see if we can extend the season by another game tonight against Oswalt. There's no need to worry about Halladay, or going back to Philly, or how we're going to make it in the NLCS without getting to use Carpenter twice. All that really matters is tonight. How many 1-game seasons have the Cardinals played this year already?

Let's hope it's loud, rowdy, and overbearing at Busch tonight. Let's get this shit back to Philly.

Excellent post, Alz. The Cardinals have played remarkably for the past month. Win or lose this series, it's been a memorable season.

I like the Jaskson vs Oswalt matchup.

We're only lacking Jim Edmonds standing on a couch.

Well we find ourselves now in the NLCS, needing to win 4 of 6. Yesterday was a winnable game, but that's over now. The Cards will rebound. We have the polar opposite against Milwaukee then we did against Philly. The starters are hittable, their late bullpen really isn't.

This is the same Milwaukee team we took 5 of 6 from. There's no reason to expect our season to come to an end. Tonight is a massively important game. If we can win, it sets us up to run Carp/Lohse/Garcia out at home. That may be enough to get us in the World Series. Tonight is huge though. Keep your heads up, the Redbirds are down again. You know what that means! Their best baseball is coming yet again!!!

We're off to  good start.  We've had a decent chance to win every game we've been in this post season.

Well.... This just in. The Cardinals season is toast. What a complete and utter failure.

Hello World Series! It's been a while!

And here we go again. Bringing it back to St. Louis, needing Garcia to get us to a game 7 or we're fucked. The season is indeed over.

Let's go ahead and play it out, and tip our caps, and see what happens.
