I dont see how Pujols can live up to a 25-30 millions doallar 8-10 year contract.  No way in hell.  No baseball player is worth that on the field.  The question is more about his worth to the club as a public figure and how much that should add to his contract.  I could see Pujols having a sharp drop off at some point in his career.  I dont see it being that far off.  To me it is likely in the first half of his contract.  If he just slips to a .270/25/80 guy the team would still be grossly overpaying him.

The speech is littered with colorful language, but there is little incendiary about what is actually said.

"One thing I want to say about Carp," Washington says at one point during the tape, referring to Cardinals starter Chris Carpenter. "Those (expletive for the media) asked me if I thought we were going to go up there and try to work his pitch (expletive) count because he's on three (expletive) days rest. You know what I told those (expletive)? He pitches the ball and (if the ball crosses the plate), we're going to knock the (expletive) out of it. That's what I told 'em."

Carpenter was the starting pitcher for the Cardinals in Game 7. The Rangers were the opposing team. Why is that part of it even a story?

The only thing offensive to me was the bit that somebody needed to get that fucking pitcher, because Carp had mouthed off, and that voice was reportedly not Washington's.

The rest of it is just normal locker room talk.
