Also,
McClellan and Motte tendered contracts. Theriot non-tendered. Cardinals still interested in Punto. Schumaker would be an extra outfielder.

I hope he isnt the 4th outfielder. Maybe the 5th would be passible. Good news on Theriot and Punto.

Is the first sentence an indication even the press wasn't happy with Theriot's performance?:

Maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part, but I suspect this means they hope to shop Jay. I like Jay, and was an early supporter, but CF is a key position to get some offense, and I don't see what Jay does, offensively or defensively, that Schu doesn't do at least as well.
So, hopefully this means Schu will be a 4th OF and they are gunning for Beltran.
