Fun with Bears Fans

Like others have said, if there is any team that can still win after losing their franchise QB to injury, it's us.

What Hanie can do is throw on the move and throw the corner route. Teams are going to be torched if they just expect him to dump it down to Forte or underneath WRs all game. I think he will pick his spots deep, and he will throw the 15-18 yard corner route all day if they let him.

We WILL move the ball with Hanie. Book it.

Use a lot of screens and short passes to get Hanie settled in. Oakland doesn't have an efficient pass D, mostly just pass rushers, and the Bears can take advantage of that.

Hanie will be productive.

I expect him to transition in very nicely ala Aaron Rodgers.

i think he freaks everybody out and we win the game. when i say freak out, i mean throws for 250 yards, 3 tds 1 int, and makes a couple of plays that get the meatballs all hot and bothered and talking about how he should have been starting all along.

I only watched Red Zone, but almost everything I saw was underneath stuff. He had that one long completion to Knox, but Hanie was remarkably unimpressive, and he was especially ineffective once the pocket broke down. The Raiders played eight in the box, keyed on Forte, and let Hanie try to beat them. And this was against a mediocre at best defense with 96-year-old Lito Sheppard playing corner. He doesn't stand a chance against a good defense.

Those who were left at the end were booing Hanie.
This was a depressing day. The Raiders had to fly across the country to get skull-fucked by a team that had a 10-day vacation, and now they have to go to Green Bay.
On top of that, Christian Ponder practically handed the game to the Donkeys with a horrible interception. The worst part was listening to Marty Brennaman's mentally-retarded son affirming his man crush on Tebow. Brennaman wasn't even referring to the team as "Denver" or "the Broncos." He was referring to them as "Tebow," as in "Tebow gets the ball back on his 35 ..."
There is a higher power at work here. Goodell is going to make sure the Tebows make the playoffs. Think of all the merchandising.

Re: Fun with Bears Fans

I was watching the Den/Min game, and with about 2:00 left, the local Fox affiliate switched to the Rams/SF pre-game. To make it better, those of us in StL had to endure every second of the Rams 26-0 drubbing while the GB/NYG game was within a score and Dal/Ari was headed to OT. I got to watch the end of the Packers game after the Rams finally ended.

Next season, when I don't renew my Rams seats, I have to get Sunday Ticket. I need to get Bob used to watching better football.

If you're not explicitly bound to one out-of-market team, you can get by with Red Zone. They're pretty good about zeroing in on the close games and ignoring the blowouts.

I hate that, especially when three minutes of commercials lead off the segue. There's another layer here that's especially annoying. The local CBS affiliate is also the "official station of the New England Patriots," which for whatever princely sum it pays to Krafty Bob allows it to preempt the late game for a half-hour of post-game coverage, usually Brady's press conference, followed by Belichick's press conference, followed by a couple of washed up jocks analyzing what they just said, which is almost nothing.

Oh, and I forgot to mention Brennaman referred to John Elway as "the Broncos' Executive Price-Vesident of Football Operations" during the broadcast yesterday. He really is dumber than a bag of toenail clippings.

Re: Fun with Bears Fans

"Hurd met with an undercover Homeland Security agent on Wednesday and attempted to set up a system by which he would purchase 5-10 kilograms of cocaine and 1,000 pounds of marijuana per week to distribute in Chicago. Here's the real kicker — according to the complaint, Hurd said that he was already distributing four kilos of cocaine per week in the greater Chicago area with a co-conspirator, but that this amount wasn't enough."

Easy to understand the drug market expanding in Chicago. Those people need something to help them cope with Caleb Hanie.
