Re: Conference Championships

I know football isnt a odds game like baseball but I wonder what the stats say on returning punts.  You might be able to argue differntly if you have the one or two stud returners in the league.  However if you dont it is my opinion that fair catching the ball every time would come out ahead in the lonf run after you weigh turnovers and TD/yard gained.  Plus Williams isnt they normal returner.  He only returned a couple times all year.

Re: Conference Championships

Hopefully the Giants' D-line can get after Brady. Their receivers should give the Pats' defense fits.

It would be pretty funny if Eli finishes with more rings than his big brother.

I was just comparing National Anthems.  Tyler butchered it.

It's so unlike him to bring attention to himself.

But he sung in a time when only the cream of the crop provided music for teenagers.  His voice is magic.

I used to love Aerosmith. The first real album I bought was Get Your Wings. I wouldn't go see them now if they were playing in my backyard and the beer was free.

Not to get off subject but the Patriots pulled some bullshit with that Josh McDainels signing.

All part of the genius that is Bill Belichick.

Sadly it appears more likely that someone is going to make a mistake lose the game rather than making a play to win it.

Especially if it continues to rain like it is.

Good call. I figured Smith would end up making a huge blunder. The punt returner is going to end up being blamed for this one, and the first one when the ball hit his leg was dumb, but the fumble in overtime was more of a good play by the coverage team.

The thing that worries me if I'm the Giants is how to stop those two tight ends. Vernon Davis had a big day, and that's with Alex Smith throwing the ball to him. Brady could carve up those safeties.

Causing the NFL to make rules?  If the 49ers would have won it would have been a adevantage to have McDainels on the Patriots.  I am sure the Rams scout the 49ers alot harder the the Patriots.

Re: Conference Championships

I'm glad the Giants won. For whatever reason, Mannings drive Patriots' fans crazy. I suppose they'd like Eli more if he dumped his pregnant girlfriend for a bikini model.

The Gaints have beat them once already this year.  Even then Gronkowski and Hernandez had good games.  The Gaints did pick Brady twice that game.  They better not expect to stick with whatever their gameplan was that time because I am sure the Patriots have adjusted.

Re: Conference Championships

I don't put too much credence in the notion the Patriots monkeyed with the scoreboard on purpose, but it goes to show how mistrusted that organization is when it's even part of the discussion.
