Twitter is all abuzz with speculation that Tampa has offered its head coaching job to Oregon coach Chip Kelly and that the two sides are working out details on the deal.

When does someone tell Kelly he's got Josh Freeman under contract for something like the next 142 years?

It's the NFL. Even if Freeman was under contract forever, they could still release him.

As of right now (8:43 AM 1/23/2012) it's a no deal.

I love how that jackass NCAA beat writer Hinton can't mention Chip Kelly without taking his shots. I'm hopeful that the Ducks will come through strong someday and win it all, just to see how bad it's gonna kill him to write something without sniping. I think he's a USC/Stanford fan...

Not that it makes much of a difference to anyone reading, but this guy is NOT a beat writer. He's an internet blogger who's been given a forum to render his opinion. Just like that idiot Passan, who doesn't know a baseball from a bowl of cherries.
See, this is the problem with on-line *journalism* - Anyone with a keyboard and a half-assed opinion is suddenly able to reach a zillion people. For informational purposes, I wouldn't put too much emphasis on anything that's written by the these hacks. They're basically doing what we do here, under the umbrella of Yahoo, which ought not to give them any more credbility than this message board.

Now Artie, that's not very fair. According to the article, Hinton is available on both Facebook and Twitter. He must be a real journalist.

That was mild. On a bad day, I can get nuclear about TV news people.

Doesn't that mean we're all journalists because we post and relay great information from this central outlet?
I want a press pass to all sporting events!
