He seems it. But I don't think he's very bright, so hopefully he's learned a lesson. He got onto the podium after the game, answered every question and took more blame than he had to, while his quarterback mumbled some kind of vague response, and his coach said nothing.

He's a Texas Tech grad. Texas Tech isn't exactly known as the Harvard of Lubbock.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to tout your academic might when your most accomplished graduate is the actor whose catchphrase was "Move it, move it, move it ..." in the Police Academy series.

I dont understand what is going on. It seems they are throwing some one under the bus just to cast the blame away from Brady.

You understand completely, AP.

I'm not sure if you understand it or not, but it seems you've drawn the same position I have.
Welker took the blame, he made no excuses about the throw, timing, or pressure. The truth is he was running full out, and was asked to spin to his outside shoulder and make a leaping catch. He didn't pull it down. The fact that he's willing to say, "That's on me, I should make that play." speaks volumes about him. He's a great player, and has a pretty solid sense of how to conduct himself as a player, and a teammate.
Course I have some bias by knowing he was an amazing WR in Miami that made our team and quarterback a hell of a lot better than they were. He's made some borderline statements ("I can sometimes surprise defenders because I'm a white WR who can play the position at a high level" (paraphrase) that weren't over the top, but probably would be avoided by most of the league), but overall he takes care of himself, and does nothing to discredit himself, his team, or the league. No DUI's, no beating a girlfriend, no weed convictions, no pissing on a table in a restaurant, no putting "SAUCED" on the license plate of his Bentley.....
He just works his ass off in practice, works his ass off in games, and good things happen for him. I have no idea if these three things are related! haha

My opinion of the catch and throw is that it was a poor throw and a hard catch. However it is one that Welker normally comes down with. Still I dont know how you blame Welker for not being able to pull down a bad pass just because he normally makes his QB look good.
